Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know before you arrive. Can't find your answer? Just get in touch.
Booking
How do I book?
You can book direct with us through our contact page for the best rates, or reserve through Booking.com or Pitchup. Once we receive your enquiry we'll confirm availability and the next steps.
What are your check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is between 4pm and 9pm, and check-out is by 11am, for all our accommodation — lodges, cabins, tents and pitches.
If you're going to arrive after 9pm, please get in touch before you travel and we'll do our best to arrange a late check-in. A charge may apply.
Are the tents available all year round?
No — our tents are seasonal. They go up in spring and come down again over winter, so they're available through the warmer months only.
Our lodges and cabins are open all year round, whatever the weather.
Can I bring my own tent and pitch up?
Yes — as well as our ready-pitched tents to hire, you can book a pitch and bring your own tent. Pitches are seasonal, in line with our tents.
Your stay
Do you allow dogs?
Well-behaved dogs are welcome on a lead around the site. Please clean up after them and keep them with you at all times.
Do you serve food and drink?
Yes, our clubhouse serves breakfast and hot drinks daily, with hot food through the day subject to demand. There's also a wood burner, large-screen TV, and a free pool table and darts, making it the perfect spot to refuel and relax after a day exploring.
Is there electricity on the pitches?
Our lodges and cabins have full power and heating. Electric hook-ups are available on selected pitches — let us know when you book if you'd like one.
What do I need to bring?
If you're bringing your own tent for a pitch, you'll need your tent, pegs, and bedding. Our ready-pitched bell tents come with bedding provided — just bring your own towels. The bell tents also have lighting inside and power packs to charge your devices. Showers and toilets are a short walk away.
Safety
Can I cook inside the tents?
No — please never cook or use a BBQ, stove, or any open flame inside the tents or cabins. The risk of carbon monoxide poisoning and fire is extremely serious.
Use our designated outdoor BBQ areas and firepits instead — they're there for exactly this.
Are firepits and BBQs allowed?
Yes, in the designated outdoor areas only. Keep firepits and BBQs well away from tents, never leave them unattended, and make sure they're fully out before you turn in for the night.
Is the site suitable for children and families?
Absolutely — we're a family-friendly site. We just ask that children are supervised at all times, especially around firepits, BBQs, and any water.
Do you take stag and hen parties?
We're afraid not. Country View is a quiet, family friendly site and most of our guests come here to relax, so we don't take bookings from stag or hen parties or from large groups booked for a celebration.
Smaller groups of friends are very welcome. If you're planning a group booking, just drop us a line before you book and we'll let you know what we can do.
